san fran - sight seeing
On the day of my flight back to DC, I had a ton of free time to sight see into the city and I could not wait. When first visiting San Francisco a couple of years back, I only had the chance to see Fisherman's Wharf at night for dinner but one special moment that I'll never forget about that visit is my Uber driver.
When leaving Fisherman's Wharf I was taking an Uber back to my hotel and remember telling the driver that this was my first time visiting and that if there were any cool places that we could stop by on the way, I would love to see.
My Uber driver was so gracious to show me around a few spots, let me get out the car and take photos and even took me to see Lombard Street a.k.a. the "Crooked Street" (which by the way was sooo cool!). Another interesting aspect is that my Uber was a stick shift car and San Francisco has a TON of steep heels so my anxiety was a little through the roof because I thought we were going to roll back down one of those hills at any moment (haha) but that's what just made the experience so memorable and interesting.
This trip was really special to me because I was able to embrace an element of San Francisco that I never experienced before. This summer, I was really grateful to have some free time during the day, by myself, to really do what I want and go where I want. A lovely synopsis of my most recent trip this summer (May 2018) can be found below:
San Francisco is such a beautiful city and I seriously can’t get enough! I visited SF twice this summer, once in May and once in August, and unfortunately in May, I came back sick with a cold (the weather takes some getting used to!). I will keep coming back to SF any change that I get! I have moved on from the job that allowed me to travel here so frequently but I look forward to traveling here in the future as a true vacation once and for all.
Have you traveled to San Francisco before?
If so, where have you gone?
